Magazine Advert Feedback

Audience Feedback - Print Outs

The magazine was honestly the most fun part of this entire project. The feedback which I received from my classmates and teachers was very positive. I looked at my case studies in detail and analyzed the magazine adverts for ideas. I was inspired by the magazine case study for J Hus, which is why I featured a similar shot when it came to editing. I used elements from the "devastated" case study when it came to promotional methods (iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Music, Spotify etc.) Lastly when it came to choosing a background, I looked to the J Hus: The 15th Day for ideas and possible features I could implement. In the end the magazine advert was successfully completed and I am pleased with the end result.

My classmates gave feedback on the advert.

Overall, they said that the advert was attractive and they would buy the product which is being advertised. They said that the choice of font is effective and is attractive. The font fits well with the urban city lifestyle and compliments it well by having building silhouettes blended with the letters.

The choice of camera shots was good, it kind of breaks the fourth wall since the actor is looking directly into the audience. This was actually used due to being inspired by The Weeknd "The Hills."

The choice of background is effective and is postmodern in a way. Since you are showing (referencing) a feature of what is featured in J Hus' CD Cover.

Lastly the background choice is good since it displays the actors emotions. The wall being cracked and having different coloured bricks indicates a mix of emotions (mostly anger). The concept or technique which I have used is labelled as Pathetic Fallacy. This skill is used in may music videos as well as films. A good example would be: if there is a death, and it begins to rain, the scene is displaying the emotions as well as the character himself.

CD Digiack Audience Feedback.

The CD Digipack was also a lot of fun to construct, like my other print products, this was edited on Adobe Photoshop, this program offered me a wide range of tools to edit my print products to the best of my ability.

The CD Digipack, like the advert had the same house style, urban jungle font, the same brick wall background. My class mates said that the pack itself was very attractive, they said that because it was so attractive, they would buy it if it were sold in stores.

The choice of shots and angles for this print product are good. for the front cover you can immediately tell that it is a recreation of what is seen on the cd pack for J Hus The 15th Day.

It is attractive in a sense because the way it has been edited in a way and has shadows which look very realistic added to it.

Like the magazine advert, the choice of the shot for the back cover breaks the fourth wall, the actor is looking directly at the audience, this gives it that sense of realism.

Lastly, the pack is realistic like the ones we see today. For example, the use of the bar code makes it look like the cd packs sold in stores. The advertisement of JOAT music is promoting the music company which produced this music.

Lastly, like the other print products the cd pack has a parental advisory logo, to show parents that the content is not suitable for children who are under aged.

Overall my print outs were successful. I received positive feedback for them all.
